Bringing together collective learnings across 60+ research organisations from CORE Net as well as other experts, the conference will seek to connect learnings from the past year, to priorities for the immediate future, as well as longer term impact and policy guidance for more resilient systems.

The conference will focus on:

  • Immersing and engaging with thematic learnings around food security, nutrition, health systems, frontline health workers, gender issues, migration, livelihoods, social security, and other issues through the lens of COVID-19

  • Deliberating on how experiences and learnings from the past year can inform future responses

  • Discussing the most significant research questions relevant across the research, implementation, and policy communities, as we collectively think about research and policy being more responsive to each other moving forward

This is a tentative list of topics and speakers and is subject to change. We will be updating the schedule frequently as we confirm more details.

Co-anchor(s): Oxford Policy Management

Frontline health workers are a crucial link between the healthcare system and communities. Being deeply embedded in the communities, they are trusted as an important ally in healthcare decision-making and often, looked up to for information and assistance. Although they have always faced a high burden of responsibility, COVID-19 shifted their focus towards managing the pandemic, thereby significantly increasing their workload. This panel seeks to bring together critical learnings to understand frontline workers response and management to the COVID situation, their challenges, and program strategies to strengthen system preparedness for any emergencies/crisis situations in the future.
