Bringing together collective learnings across 60+ research organisations from CORE Net as well as other experts, the conference will seek to connect learnings from the past year, to priorities for the immediate future, as well as longer term impact and policy guidance for more resilient systems.

The conference will focus on:

  • Immersing and engaging with thematic learnings around food security, nutrition, health systems, frontline health workers, gender issues, migration, livelihoods, social security, and other issues through the lens of COVID-19

  • Deliberating on how experiences and learnings from the past year can inform future responses

  • Discussing the most significant research questions relevant across the research, implementation, and policy communities, as we collectively think about research and policy being more responsive to each other moving forward

This is a tentative list of topics and speakers and is subject to change. We will be updating the schedule frequently as we confirm more details.

Adolescents have been increasingly relying on digital platforms to learn about their bodies, health, and relationships. Digital technology has also proved to be an effective tool in reaching out to vulnerable adolescents with information in the pandemic. However, research conducted by Women Deliver and Girl Effect indicate that while digital platforms offer access to varied SRHR information, especially those that remain taboo, participants reported they do not necessarily act on information they find, partly due to a lack of trust in the credibility of these mediums.

This panel seeks to identify some of the system level gaps and challenges that need to be addressed for increased meaningful engagement of young people in the development, design, and implementation of digital health services and resources. It would also delve deeper into ongoing investments in gender equality, including comprehensive sexuality education, and learning from such interventions that can integrate into future programming to foster an environment where adolescents can learn effectively about their sexual and reproductive rights and access right information.
